Education

SMU Guildhall (2015 - 2017)

Certificate in Digital Game Development, Software Development Specialization

Programming students practice gameplay programming and game engine architectures in both commercial engines and their own custom-built engine.

At SMU Guildhall I focused on deepening my understanding of programming for video games. I worked on a number of individual and team-based projects, including a self-authored game engine in C++, a local multiplayer CTF shooter in Unreal, and a VR puzzle game using the HTC Vive. The program comprised 58 graduate semester hours, with 44 in programming, applied CS, and computational methods.

UT Dallas (2008 - 2014)

MS Applied Cognition and Neuroscience (2012 – 2014)

Advanced training incorporating methodologies from neuroscience, experimental psychology, artificial intelligence, and human-computer interactions.

Following my undergraduate degree, I continued my education at UT Dallas in a graduate program that was customizable to my interests. I took courses in computational modeling, human-computer interaction, and game programming, and I worked in an on-campus research lab studying tinnitus. Graduate coursework included 18 semester hours in CS and programming disciplines.

BS Cognitive Science (2008 – 2012)

Focuses on understanding intelligent systems, both biological and artificial, from people and animals to computers and robots.

During my undergraduate degree at UT Dallas, I took courses in mathematics, computer science, psychology, and neuroscience, all part of a multidisciplinary approach to understanding information processing in humans and machines. I was a declared Computer Science major alongside Cognitive Science from 2010 to 2011, completing 35 undergraduate hours in CS and electrical engineering.

Victoria College (2007 - 2008)

Completed 46 transfer credit hours before transferring to UT Dallas. Worked as a tutor, tutoring fellow students across a range of subjects.
